When building my house, I wanted the banister to be a very important part of the home. I grew up in an 1800s Greek revival farmhouse in upstate New York and the newel post and banister were works of art. It is one of the few tactile places in a house – I knew I was going to be running my hands several times a day over it for the next 30 years. I came across Kinzel wood products in my internet research and they were fantastic to work with. You can tell they have a genuine passion for stairs and were very concerned that I was happy with their product. They were a pleasure to work with. They custom designed the stairs for my space and used Northern hardwoods to give it an authentic, American look.
